Instructions:
1. In an iron pot, heat the meat fryings or butter over medium heat.

4. Once the meat is browned, remove it from the pot and wash it off under cold water. This step is crucial to remove any impurities from the meat.
5. Return the washed roast to the pot and pour in enough water to half cover the meat. The water will help create a flavorful broth as the roast cooks.
6. Season the meat with pepper and salt according to your taste preferences.
